    Hi Dr. Woeller,
I’ve just asked a friend w/ MS if I could run an OAT on her urine. I have been paying for OAT’s for people as I have been learning because I am worried about not offering full value. (I know it’s a horrible business plan)
Her husband is a DO. I’d like to have him write the order and maybe get hooked on these courses too, study partner!!!. If he writes the order would you recommend the ENVIROtox complete panel and the IgG. I don’t want to request anything that is not necessary. Can you make a suggestion on proper ICD-10 code for a MS patient that would benefit from these tests. Her case is severe enough that she gets an infusion of Ocrevus twice a year.
I heard Dr. Shaw say in a lecture that many MS patients had a form of a Corona virus. Is there a test offered from GPL that would give me this ionformation.
    Thanks,
Aviva + son who is helping me type this.

I would suggest the EnviroTOX Complete, plus the Hair Metals Test and Food IgG MAP Test.

The only COVID test I know about through GPL is this one – https://www.greatplainslaboratory.com/sars-cov-2-antibody-test

    Sincerely,
    Dr. Woeller

    Thanks Dr. Woeller,
Thanks for the test recommendations! If they are able to get the tests covered I would imagine they will do them w/o question. Do you believe G35 is specific enough for a ICD-10. Is there another code that may be more appropriate?
In a webinar Dr Shaw presented he said many MS patients have a form of a Corona Virus. This was from a study prior to Covid19. Is there an organism predominantly that you have identified when working with your MS patients?
    Thanks,
    Aviva

    Aviva,
Yes, the MS code should be appropriate. You might add ICD.10 R53.83 for fatigue.

No other specific pathogen that I have come across specific to MS. You definitely want to rule out candida and clostridia issues, along with chemical toxins.

    Hi Dr Woeller,
I have the OAT results for a friend with MS. As far as being a good detective I don’t see much ):
Citramalic is upper limit of normal 3.6, Tartaric is upper limit of normal 24, Arabinose is high but not crazy high 56. There are no elevated clostridia markers.
Oxalic is possibly creeping up at 2SD level is 90.
The mitochondrial kreb markers fumaric, malic and 2-oxoglutaric are close to or barely above the upper limit of normal. If there was a problem w/ the ETC at complex 2 I would guess fumaric and malic would be on the low end.
    The AA metabolites #31 3-hydroxyglutaric is 7.4.
The NT metabolites are all in range.
Ketone and FA #43 slightly elevated. I don’t know about her diet besides gluten free.
Nutritional markers B2 and B6 are low.
Her detox markers are w/i the mean. (midway to low)
Based on the OAT test aside from nutritional recommendations I do not see anything I can recommend except for further testing. What are your thoughts.
    Thanks,
    Aviva

    Dr. Janofsky,
I agree in that this individual’s OAT is not significantly impressive with regards to the severity of her disease. However, I also can view that as a good thing in that there may be other tests to explore and avenues to take with regards to her treatment and now that major issues from the OAT do not need to be addressed. Overall, I would still approach this case with fundamental nutrients, e.g. vitamins, minerals, B-vitamins and good nutrition.
